After months of planning and public comments, the City of Minneapolis has updated its Above the Falls master plan. The full document, public comments, and a summary of recommendations and responses to comments can be found here. A public hearing on these proposed changes will be on Tuesday, February 19th, 4:30 p.m. at City Hall.
More information will be posted soon, but Hawthorne has been focused on, among other things, three items in particular: a connection along 26th Avenue North from the residential sector to the riverfront (including bike lanes and walkability), bike paths along the river that connect the Grand Rounds/River Parkway from downtown through Hawthorne and up to the Mississippi Regional Park, and land use around the Riverview condominiums that will take into account the opinions of our residents who live in that part of the community.
