Green Team Needs You!

The first meeting of the Green Team will be June 21st at 6:30 PM at Farview Park.

We are looking for anyone in the neighborhood who’s interested in being part of the Hawthorne Eco-Project to develop specific ideas for environmentally-friendly projects.

Hawthorne Welcomes Jeff Skrenes!

The Hawthorne Area Community Council has just announced the hiring of the new Housing Director, Jeff Skrenes, previously with ACORN, who will be working with the Hawthorne Area Neighborhood to research and find solutions for housing foreclosures and predatory lending issues. Stay tuned for more details about Jeff and his work in the coming months ahead!

Hawthorne Huddle This Thursday!

Please join us at the Hawthorne Huddle on Thursday, April 5th, when we will learn about the Minneapolis Public Schools’ plan to improve education for North Minneapolis youth. The District has developed the Northside Initiative and would like to provide information about changes related to the plan at the Hawthorne Huddle.

We also will have an update on the University of Minnesota’s work in North Minneapolis.
The Hawthorne Huddle will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Farview Park, located at 621 29th Avenue North. A continental breakfast will be available at 7:15 a.m.
